Schaalsee and the surrounding area
Welcome to Zarrentin! The impressive gateway to one of the most beautiful lake landscapes in Mecklenburg is home to the natural Schaalsee and its gently rolling shores. The history of the town, first mentioned in 1194, began around the Romanesque fieldstone church and the convent, which formed the old centre. You can visit both today not far from the Fischhaus.
